Description
The Star of India is the world’s oldest active sailing ship. It is an iron-hulled sailing ship that was build at Ramsey Shipyard in the Isle of Man in 1863. During her career she spent time sailing from Great Britain to India and New Zealand, and also she became a salmon hauler on the Alaska to California route. In 1962 it was restored and was docked in a harbor near downtown San Diego for visitors to come and see.
